Ok ok maybe I was freaking out a little too much before I came to Costa Rica but now everything is great. An update on the things I was worried about: my cat is doing much much better and is now able to go outside, I got into a high intermediate spanish class which is equal to a advanced class in America so I´m happy, my teacher did not mind that I had to leave to go to my sister´s wedding and all of the stuff I packed was sufficient so no more worries!
Let´s see what has happened so far: the first day we took a tour of downtown San Jose which is like a mile away so not too far and it´s super cool. The main street is a pedestrain walking street and sometimes it´s really busy but it is always nice to see the hustle and bustle of a city. We also got to see our cool house that has like five levels, a library, a patio, multi-colored lamps and furniture, a cute dining room and kitchen area, it is really nice and honestly looks like a real world house.
On Wednesday the power was out in our building so we got to take a tour of the RAINFOREST! It was amazing. We went to this gorgeous resort that had tons of animals like snakes, different monkeys, toucans, hummingbirds, cougars, butterflys, sloths, frogs and more. Most of the places you could just walk around with the animals surrounding you and you could touch and hold them (obviously not the monkeys, or the cougars or anything) but it was still awesome. I got to hold and feed a toucan and it was completely adorable and I got to hold hands with a monkey but then he jingled his stuff in my face so that was a little weird lol. Me and two other girls also played tug of war with a stick and the cougar- that was interesting and there is a video on facebook of that. After we ate an amazing buffet of food and looked at the animals we went to two HUGE waterfalls that were just incredibly gorgeous and trust me I will upload pictures soon.
Oh my goodness, it´s hard to describe how amazing and beautiful everything was on that day but I guess pictures will help.
Extremely early in the morning at 4 am on thursday I went to the airport and flew to new jersey and then to london. The interesting thing about that trip was that I saw a little costa rican boy in the airport do all of the motions to thriller and sing all of the words correctly by heart it was so cute. Also on my flight to london from New Jersey, in case you didn´t read my status from before, Beyonce´s parents rode on my flight which was crazy weird. I overheard the flight attendants talking and they kept talking about Beyonce and i was just like ok whatever they must like her. then low and behold I´m in line and here comes her parents in the First class line (of course) and really late, and I was like wow holy moly they fly continental weird. Then I got onto the plane and she was right next to me talking on her phone- it was cool. Then when I got to london i had a miny heart attack when i realized i couldnt change my costa rican money into euros, thank goodness for credit card cash advances though.
OK so anyway about the wedding. Everything was wonderful and beautiful, it was a super long day but it was well worth it. I actually a little surprised because i thought i was to ball my eyes out at the wedding but i didnt actually cry until the reception. I couldnt help but cry when Alexis gave a speech about Eugenia and our family : im getting teary eyed just thinking about it. The wedding was in a cute circular church that was just perfect. Then after there was a mini reception with finger food and drinks (apparently they do it like that in England) and then the reception was a couple hours later and it was in the beautiful town hall. It had lovely high ceilings, and wonderful decorations (i´ll put pictures up soon). There was a string quartet that played classical and other songs and Eugenia and Alexis danced the waltz I think as there first dance (they learned it from youtube lol). I don´t know what else to say other than it was just lovely and perfect. OH and Alexis didnt tell Eugenia where they were going on their honeymoon until the day of to surprise her but we now know that they are going to Salzburg, Austria and Germany because that´s where they filmed the Sound of Music. And if you know our family that movie is like a HUGE deal, we watch it pretty much ever year and it used to be both of our favorite movies. Oh and Alexis has never seen it and I told him one time that to be apart of our family he has to see it - it´s like a pre-requisite. Omg it´s just sooo cute.
And back to Costa Rica: now Im back at school and things are going well. We sometimes have A LOT of homework for one night but that happens to everyone so I cant complain. I´m still not very comfortable speaking in front of the class in Spanish but Im getting so that´s good. Oh and most importantly this weekend we are going to the BEACH! It´s called Manuel Antonio and you can walk around with monkeys and sometimes they steal your stuff out your backpack (which is bad but a little funny too). I´m super excited and some of us are supposed to be going Bungee Jumping soon which I am STOKED about, omg I can´t wait. Ahhh I love Costa Rica.
p.s I miss everyone back at home and wish you were here with me!
